Top Real Estate Professional Joins RE/MAX of New England Team

RE/MAX Expands Commercial Division in Connecticut
Natick, MA – January 16, 2012 – RE/MAX of New England is pleased to announce the addition of Wayne D’Amico, a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), to the RE/MAX Right Choice team in Trumbull, CT.  As Senior Managing Director of the Commercial Division at RE/MAX Right Choice, Wayne will be tasked with developing and elevating the company’s commercial division regionally, nationally and internationally.

D’Amico brings more than two decades worth of real estate experience to his new role. He is the third generation of a family tradition in real estate and construction. He graduated from New York University with a Bachelors degree in Real Estate & Finance and went on to found several real estate management and consultant firms throughout Connecticut. In 1996, D’Amico earned the CCIM Designation which is the highest, most sought after designation in commercial real estate.

He most recently was the President and Owner of Property Politics, a real estate development and advisory firm specializing in complex real estate development, brokerage and consulting services. Notably, D’Amico is currently the President-Elect of the CCIM Institute and will take on the role of President in 2013.

D’Amico will be joining an equally impressive, award-winning real estate office at RE/MAX Right Choice. Housing Outlook Brighter- RE/MAX Market Insights Survey

RE/MAX agents are no strangers to being visible experts in their marketplaces, often giving media interviews and sharing their insights on local real estate. Now a new quarterly survey – RE/MAX Market Insights – provides Associates with a nationally branded platform to share their market opinions.

More than 1,000 RE/MAX residential agents provided responses for the inaugural survey conducted in December. Participants offered their thoughts on market conditions and consumer behavior in 2011, as well as predictions for the New Year.
Here’s a glimpse at some of the December survey’s highlights:
  • 39% of RE/MAX agents believe that prices have already hit bottom
  • Nearly three-fourths of agents say their markets will have emerged from declining home prices by the end of 2012
  • 62.1% of agents predict good to very good sales in 2012
  • Half of closings were significantly delayed due to bank procedures (22.7%), financing (14.5%) and appraisals (8.7%)

Paying Off Your Mortgage Loan Early

When you buy your first home and you see that 30 year term, it seems like you'll be paying for your home forever. There are ways to shorten your mortgage term without refinancing.
  1. Pay a little extra every month towards your principal. You can usually add a dollar amount that specifically goes towards that and even if you can only afford $20.00, send it in. That is an extra $240.00 towards your principal each year.
  2. Make one extra full payment a year. By doing this simple thing, you reduce your loan term by YEARS.
  3. Don't spend money on frivolities. If you have extra cash on hand, invest it in your equity or in home improvements - especially the kitchen and bathrooms which will increase your home's value.
